Ornaments, Noses and Tails

DeSoto was a division of Chrysler Corporation, it was named after Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, hence the peculiar image on the ornament below. Sadly it only produced cars from the early 1920's to 1961.

Mr. Rudolf Diesel invented the engine powering this beauty all the way back in the late 1800's 

1980 Mercedes 300d

Bayerische Motoren Werk or BMW for short was founded in 1916, it used to produce aircraft engines during WWI and WWII. See the propeller on the logo?

A Chevy Corvette has been used 12 times as a pace car for the Indy 500

The letters S F on the Ferrari logo stand for "Scuderia Ferrari" literally translated to "Ferrari Stable" 

Packard automobiles were produced from 1899 to 1958

Tour Americal 2013

In this amazing car event over 150 cars were shipped from Antwerp Belgium to Newark NJ. Then driven south on the east coast to Miami. These photos were taken during a stop in Fernandina Beach FL.
